This is for 's Horses at Work contest.

Took roughly 5 hours to paint in The Gimp 2. This was tons of fun for me to do because this is the third time I've drawn/painted knights in armor. And this is the first time I've put horses in armor, so it was a new experience for me and I LOVE expiramenting (hmm...that first 'i' doesn't look right. Arggh. I can't spell tonight).

Originally I had a sword falling from the closer knight's hand. I'd already started painting it, when I realized that, at the speed his horse is going and with how far over he's fallen already, you probably wouldn't see the area he'd dropped his sword by this time. *sigh*

For the Horse with the dying knight I used the following stock:

Friesian Horse Stock by - Used to draw the horse
Knight 2 by - Used to draw the blanket and knight

For the Horse with the knight with the crossbow:

Horse Armor 1 by - Used for the horse head armor
Painting Metal in Adobe by - Used the tutorial to paint the armor (of course, my armor didn't turn out so well, lol, but the tutorial did help because I couldn't paint anything to look even remotely metal before this tutorial).
